Author to launch ebook | Entertainment

Here is an update on an up-and-coming Issaquah author and former Bellevue resident:

Today Warp Entertainment LLC announced upcoming launch events for its first ebook title, “Chambers”, by Issaquah author, Sarah Gerdes at the Microsoft Store Bellevue Square and Fry’s Electronics.

In-store events will be held July 23rd and 24th at the Microsoft Store Bellevue Square, and on July 22nd and 23rd at Fry’s Electronics in Renton, WA.  A walk-on movie role in an upcoming Warp Film will be given away at each in-store event at the Microsoft Store and Fry’s. The event marks the first time a major motion picture studio has launched an ebook in this way.

“The demand for ebooks is increasing exponentially,” explained Warp’s CEO and producer, Lucas Foster. “Consumers want digital content immediately, not two years from now. By connecting with the community at major retail locations like the Microsoft Store and Fry’s, we can reach consumers through our ebook content across a variety of devices. This is timely, since Chambers is the first property I’ve read that is so compelling it needs to go straight to ebooks and film simultaneously. A printed book will come later,” continued Foster.

Chambers was conceived and written by Gerdes, a 40-something mother of three. “I love history, time travel and action,” Gerdes explained. “Lucas’s vision for a five book/movie series matches mine. We are on the same page creatively.” It was why Foster decided to option all five books for a movie franchise project that he describes as Indiana Jones meets Twilight.

Foster and Gerdes will be at each store event, signing autographs and drawing the give-aways, including Microsoft Kinect, Amazon Kindles, skins, gift certificates for Fry’s, Starbucks, Amazon and more. The grand prize is four, walk-on movie roles in one of Foster’s upcoming major motion pictures (one provided at each of the four events). Chambers (ASIN: B0050W9HWA) is available as an eBook on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Apple for $2.99.
