Bank volunteers paint homeless apartment | Business
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Working today from 10:00 a.m. until about 1:00 p.m., fifteen Bank of America (BOA) volunteers painted a Bellevue apartment that serves as housing for homeless families while they become self-supporting.
Working as a team in partnership with the Master Builders Care Foundation (MBCF), the volunteers painted an apartment unit for Housing at the Crossroads in Bellevue. This project was funded by a $3,000 cash received recently from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation. This is part of a nationwide cash grant and volunteer effort between Bank of America and HomeAid America.
Jay Schupack, executive director of MBCF, and Tom Witte, BOA Homebuilder Finance, senior relationship manager for Western U.S., pitched in to transform the dated interior with gallons of paint.
Witte noted that BOA employees volunteered about 15,000 hours last year in the Puget Sound area. During the same period the bank invested about $4 million in philanthropy in the community.
