Head On Collision, Eastbound I-90 |

A head on collision between a blue Toyota and some type of heavy road construction vehicle trapped one man for nearly forty minutes and blocked all but one lane of the freeway.
The crash happened around 2:20am Wednesday morning when a man in a 1998 Toyota Corolla entered I-90 the wrong way from an HOV off ramp. He collided with a large road construction vehicle parked near exit 11 at 150th Ave SE in Bellevue. The driver of the car was trapped inside because the doors were not able to open after the impact. Firefighters from Battalion 1 and Engine 72 spent nearly 40 minutes getting the man pulled from the wreck. He was taken to Harborview with life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.
Three lanes were blocked for nearly two hours while crews cleaned the up the debris and removed the vehicles.
Washington State Patrol suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
