Free career mixer tonight | Business
More than 400 job seekers, along with hiring managers and representatives from some of the area's most prominent employers, are expected to attend a free "career mixer" tonight at Maggiano's Little Italy.
Here’s the description from ProLango:
The relaxed event with the no-host bar is not a job fair. Awkward "elevator speeches" are discouraged. Resumes aren't passed out. Instead, the mixer offers an informal way to network and begin building real, sustainable relationships.
For many participants, the mixer hosted by ProLango Consulting produces job leads, referrals and eventual employment. Attendees can pick up job tips from the pros. Monday's speaker will be Heather (Abramson) Krasna, author of "Jobs That Matter" and Director of Career Services at the University of Washington's Evans School of Public Affairs.
Companies that will be represented at the mixer include Amazon, Swedish, PATH, University of Washington, along 20 others.
Paul Anderson, the Redmond-based career consultant who leads ProLango, has seen the mixers grow from 200 attendees to more than 600 on occasion. The event will be Monday, August 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Maggiano's Little Italy, 10455 N.E. 8th St., Bellevue.
